The Mountain Lake Beach will be closed today, July 31, Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 due to a staffing shortage.  It is scheduled to be open on Monday, August 3.

ADVISORY

A water sample collected from this beach within the past 24 hours indicates bacteria levels over the recreational bathing standard.

Mountain Lake Beach remains open and additional samples will be collected on Friday, July 31. You may view all test results online at www.njbeaches.org or by calling the Warren County Health Department at 908-475-7960.

Bacteria levels change with the weather, tides, and currents. They are usually highest near storm water pipes, especially during and after rainfall. You can reduce your risk of illness avoiding contact with water in or near storm water pipes.

Aerial larviciding notification - July 31

An aerial pesticide application for mosquito control is planned.  A granular substance (resembling kitty litter) will be applied to standing water, by aircraft, for the control of immature mosquitoes by the Warren County Mosquito Commission.

** This application notification is based on the significant rainfall that fell July 28, 2026, our staff is still conducting inspections for larval mosquito activity, so it is possible that aerial treatments will not take place in all of the areas indicated. **

The Mountain Lake Beach will be closed Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12 due to staffing shortage.  It will be back open on Monday, July 13 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
