PUBLIC NOTICE TO VOTERS OF INDEPENDENCE
AND LIBERTY TOWNSHIPS,
A SPECIAL ELECTION concerning the Great Meadows Regional School District
will be held on March 11, 2025
between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The following is
the Proposal to be submitted to the
legal voters of Independence and Liberty Townships at the Special Election:
BOND PROPOSAL QUESTION
The
Board of Education of the Great Meadows Regional School District in the County
of Warren, New Jersey (the “Board”) is authorized to (a) undertake various improvements,
alterations, renovations, and upgrades including, (i) the purchase and
installation of a digital public announcement system and related security
upgrades for Central Elementary School, Liberty Elementary School, and Great
Meadows Middle School, including acquisition and installation of fixtures and
equipment; and (ii) various HVAC upgrades and improvements for Great Meadows
Middle School, including
acquisition and installation of fixtures, equipment, and any site work; (b) appropriate $8,059,100 for such
improvements; and (c) issue bonds in
an amount not to exceed $8,059,100.
The final eligible costs for the projects
approved by the New Jersey Commissioner of Education are $8,059,100 (consisting of $133,300 for
Central Elementary School, $133,300 for Liberty Elementary School, and
$7,792,500 for Great Meadows Regional Middle School). The projects include $0 for school facility
construction elements in addition to the facilities efficiency standards
developed by the Commissioner of Education or not otherwise eligible for State
support pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-5(g).
The State debt service aid percentage will equal 40% of the annual debt
service due with respect to the final eligible costs of the projects. The Board of Education is authorized to
transfer funds among the projects approved at this election.

You will find a
NJ Voters' Bill of Rights posted at your polling place. The Bill of Rights addresses the following
matters: interaction with the voting
machine, ID requirements for first-time by-mail registrants, provisional ballot
voting, Challenger Do's & Don'ts, the challenge process in the polling
place, election offenses, and Voting by Mail.

CHANGE OF RESIDENCE WITHIN WARREN
COUNTY NEW JERSEY PERTAINING TO THE GREAT MEADOWS REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL
ELECTION OF MARCH 11, 2025:
If you are a
WARREN COUNTY REGISTERED VOTER who
has received a Confirmation Notice, or moved WITHIN WARREN COUNTY AND DID NOT
NOTIFY THE ELECTION BOARD on or before the address change deadline of February 18, 2025: 1)
if you have moved WITHIN your current voting
district, you may vote at your usual polling place after filling out a form
to update your voting records; 2) If you have moved outside of your former Warren County New
Jersey voting district but still
within eligible voting districts for the Great Meadows Regional School
District Special Election, you are permitted to vote by Provisional
Ballot at the polling place assigned for your new and current residence. Such a
REGISTERED VOTER may contact the Election Board at 475-6312 or 6313, OR their
local Municipal Clerk to determine their NEW
voting district and/or polling place.
Pursuant to
provisions of the Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act of
1984 (P.L. 98-435), a telecommunication device for the deaf (TDD) is maintained
at the Election Division, Department of Law and Public Safety, Trenton, New
Jersey. Persons wishing to utilize this
service to obtain general voter information may do so by dialing
1-800-292-0039.
Any person who
is unable to vote due to blindness, disability or inability to read or write
may bring someone to the polls to assist them, or, you may be assisted at the
polls by district board workers. You may
also use the voice recorded ballot on the voting machine which allows for
independent voting by the blind and visually impaired.
You have the
additional option of applying to the WARREN COUNTY CLERK (908-475-6011) for a
MAIL-IN BALLOT. This option is available to ALL Voters.
